this project is inspired by the song le ciel by malice mizer, which you can listen to by clicking the album above. it's both my escape and my way back down to earth. each earring in this series is love note to le ciel and the world around me :>
[finished jan 10, 2024] this pair took me about 10 hours to make! the entire structure was experimental and it took me a bit (this is an understatement...) to figure out how to shape the wire. the basic structure is made out of wire and resin. each earring features a lily inside of a heart + wing frame, a quatrefoil, curled streamers, a bow, and a magnetic bead. the total drop length is 14.5 cm.
sorry i'm not very good at writing so this won't be the prettiest analysis :( anyway, the color choices and placements were intentional (besides the blue and red... honestly those were the only colors of embroidery floss i had (-_-;) if you think hard enough the blue represents the sky and red represents ummm). ouggh words are so hard. i don't have one coherent thought in here, but i swear i thought out the details when i was designing. silver... white.....wilting lily... fading away.. reflections in each other's eyes... souls intertwined yet their physical figures must part.... both at two ends of each other's worlds or something.. do as you wish with this information.
